Report on conference Participation: PTF BPI 2025 Kuchl, Salzburg, Austria

The 8th International Conference on Processing Technologies for the Forest and Bio-based Products Industries (PTF BPI 2025) took place at the Design and Green Engineering Department of Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, Campus Kuchl, Austria, on 18–19 September 2025. Once again, this event presented an opportunity to showcase some research outputs of the Faculty of Wood Engineering and Creative Industries at the University of Sopron.

The Sopron delegation was the largest, with 11 participants: Professors Róbert Németh, Prof. László Tolvaj and Dr. Csilla Csiha, as well as Dr Miklós Bak, Dr Mátyás Báder, and PhD students Hiba Khalifa, Luca Buga-Kovács, Anett Sütő, Fath Alrhman A. A. Younis, Haruna Seidu, and Omar Saber Zinad. A total of nine topics were presented under various categories.

These presentations were well received and provided an excellent opportunity to showcase our academic achievements to an international audience. Participation in the conference was sponsored by TKP 2021-NKTA-43. As expected, the research team from the University of Sopron gained valuable insights from other researchers, built new professional connections and strengthened existing collaborations for future joint projects and professional development.

The participants are sincerely grateful to Professor Róbert Németh, Prof. László Bejó and the TKP Project. Overall, the conference was a valuable experience that enabled PhD students to engage with experts, strengthen international connections and gain new perspectives to support future academic work.
